The Community Relations & Communications Manager reports directly to the Communications Director on Communications tasks and indirectly to the Group Marketing Director on community relations tasks.
Under the oversight of the Communications Director, this position has responsibility for day-to-day message drafting, generating positive news that focuses on service lines and hospital reputation, building and maintaining media relationships, assisting the marketing team with social media implementation, and staffing community and employee events.
The role is also responsible for all aspects of community relations including working in tandem with the marketing team to support the overall community engagement strategy.
This role will work closely with the group communications director and group marketing director for needs relating to community events as well as preparing talking points, presentations, and other communications materials for hospital leadership as it relates to community health platform initiatives and other community engagement events and opportunities.
This role will work collaboratively with the hospital leadership, marketing, and strategy teams.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or related field is required; Master’s degree is desired.
Must have 4-6 years of relevant experience developing communications strategies and driving key messages across internal and external stakeholders.
Must possess excellent copywriting.
editing and researching skills and maintain strong knowledge of the healthcare industry.
Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with blogs, podcasts and emerging social mediums is a plus.
Must have the ability to travel up to 50% between Piedmont Medical Center and Fort Mill Medical Center.
Selected candidate will be required to pass Motor Vehicle Record check.
