Position Summary Our Team Lead of Freight Sales will manage a team of individuals with the goal of supporting the end-to-end life cycle of developing relationships with new customers and curating freight services to meet the needs of the business.
This role will lead a team that is multi-faceted, working closely with carrier partners to meet customer demands.
The Team Lead will coach, train and develop the FSR’s on the team and be responsible for helping them meet established expectations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following Provide leadership to the sales team, leveraging experience to give direction on sales techniques.
Train FSR’s in strategic negotiation to ensure profitable outcomes and sustainable partnerships.
Support the team’s efforts to properly identify, qualify, and acquire new customers via phone, referrals, trade shows, and networking.
Provide the team qualified leads to support sales activities.
Guide the interfacing with team’s current customers in order to grow customer base.
Direct collaboration with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers to meet customer’s needs.
Develop the team towards providing exceptional customer support and resolution communication.
Maintain team coverage in order for team to provide support and communication throughout the shipping lifecycle.
Act as main point of contact for all personnel management functions.
Spearhead the ongoing training and development of sales representatives at multiple tiers of acheivement.
Strategically guide sales team to prepare for and execute strategic sales meetings with customers and carriers.
Performs other tasks as assigned to help grow the business.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to coach and grow sales teams.
Demonstrated ability in strategics sales.
Experience of 3-5 years in similarly situation sales environment.
Freight brokerage experience required.
Strong ability to lead teams in customer service, communication, negotiation and closing skills.
