Summary The Director of Sales -Carolina Cat Power Systems will have primary responsibility for profitable orders, backlog, and revenue growth by leading teams and individuals for sales of equipment, projects, services, & product-support encompassing electric power generation, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV Charging, and other newer power related solutions.
This role is uniquely structured to lead sales of both new equipment & projects as well as product-support & services creating strong synergies and unusual opportunities to serve customers and facilities across solution lifecycles.
The focus areas for this role are to develop & execute sales strategies and plans to grow the business, motivate, mentor, and manage a high-performing sales-team to further success & personal growth, and nurture key-customer and industry relationships.
The Director of Sales will also be a critical connection point between Carolina Cat Power Systems’ sales teams and OEM organizations that we represent.
Essential Functions Sales Strategy & Planning Maintains a deep understanding of the markets & spaces we operate in and drive plans to penetrate by directing & interpreting data-analysis, maintaining industry relationships, and participating in key events and seminars.
Works closely with the VP & GM, Operations Director, Business Development Director, Marketing team, and other functional leaders to identify growth opportunities, find and collaboratively solve constraints, and define and execute the division strategy.
Develops and delivers Sales Strategy & Plan to meet Power Systems business objectives, including tactics & plans for short- and long-term growth & achieving of market-share targets in the equipment & projects and services & product-support segments.
She/He also leads forecasting of orders, backlog, related margins, and tracking performance to these forecasts.
Acts as a key member of the Power Systems leadership team and serves collaboratively as an advisor and consultant in areas of expertise.
Sales Management Guide, support, and manage ‘NEW’ equipment/projects sales engineers directly and a team of Service/Product Support sales personnel through a highly knowledgeable & experienced Product Support Sales Manager.
Lead, coach, and mentor sales team and sales leaders with a growth mindset towards continuous improvement in product and industry knowledge as well as sales processes for efficiency, quality, profitability, and responsiveness.
Understands and effectively employs 6-sigma, lean and similar process improvement tools and techniques in daily work.
Partners with Marketing and other functions to develop and execute effective campaigns and plans to improve brand awareness, grow lead generation, and win-rates across all customer segments including Electrical & General Contractors, EPCs, Users, Utilities, and Operators.
Responsible for the sales-force organization and talent growth that aligns with business objectives and sales strategy.
Recommends and implements innovative and industry-leading ideas for rewarding performance and customer success.
Ensures sales-team and sales leaders are supported for success in their daily activities and in achieving their goals through developing the right tools, information sets, processes, and managing relationships with OEMs and other business partners.
Works closely with General Counsel, legal team, and related business partners and is responsible for ensuring that contracts and obligations entered into by Sales team are acceptable to the business and follow delegation-of-authority and ethical practices.

Travel approximately 25%, Must meet company requirements for auto insurance coverage.
Computer Skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) – Excel & PowerPoint proficient.
CRM (SalesForce or similar) expert user and ERP (SAP or similar) familiarity.
