Position Purpose
The Sr.
Annual Fund Specialist oversees annual giving programs across all donor segments; with a primary focus on the Hope Builders Society (donors giving $1,000 or more per year).
This position also works closely with the Director of Development on prospect and donor research, stewardship/renewal/upgrade programs and communications, administrative projects, and event support.
This position supports other departmental responsibilities connected to donor & program data maintenance, prospect research, event coordination, and any other development-related duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Essential Functions
Position is action-oriented, able to execute data-driven processes to identify, cultivate, and steward donors in effective moves-management strategies.
Creates and manages plans for donor acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship for new donors and individual giving campaigns.
Makes cold calls and can secure regular face-to-face donor visits (in person or virtual).
Solicits individual prospects or recommends prospects to other members of the team for solicitation at other appropriate gift levels.
Prospect research to support all frontline fundraisers.
Designs, executes, and manages annual campaigns – solicitations and communications throughout the year.
Drives Moves-Management and Donor Engagement strategies for donor segments.
Serves as a Project Manager for the HomeGrown Donor Acquisition event, and provides support –where needed—to other Development/Fundraising events/programs.
Assists the Director of Development in establishing and managing annual and long-range development goals.
Supports Major Gifts Senior Managers with research, portfolio strategies, and communications.
Works closely with Salesforce account owners on donor portfolios: solicitation strategies and stewardship activities.
Able to identify & track donor behaviors, establish giving patterns, and generate accurate forecasts and action plans.
Supports the Director of Development to develop and deepen donor relationships – through data mining and segmentation.
Supports team members when needed or other development-related duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
3-5 years or more years of experience on a Development/Fundraising team
Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent fundraising experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience in event and project management in a professional environment
Understanding of database design and database management
Ability to work both on broad-based strategy and on specific detail
Strong project management skills to facilitate the creation of strategies and action plans
Enthusiasm for teamwork, accuracy, initiative, and critical thinking
Commitment to constant improvement
Excellent problem-solving, analytical and organizational skills
Work Environment
This position requires working primarily indoors at the Habitat office and traveling throughout the service area for meetings and events as required.
