SALARY GRADE: Grade 18
This position is time-limited, grant funded, full-time.
Funding for this position will end on June 30, 2025.
The Office of the District Court, Judicial District 38, is seeking a qualified candidate to perform a variety of administrative and case management functions for the Chief District Court Judge.
This position will work closely with the District Attorney's Office.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Facilitate exchange of information between the judge, government, and public and community agencies.
Attend court sessions.
Maintain information and files on court participants.
Possess military cultural competency.
Understand the resources and services of the United State Department of Veterans Affairs.
Assistant program participants in locating opportunities in education, training, and employment, housing and transportation.
Ensure the efficient and successful coordination between Veterans Treatment Court, individuals and other agencies and departments in order to improve access to services for court involved veterans.
Manage treatment court program to assure successful achievement of individual programs objectives and adherence to program goals.
Write/Assist in grant applications and manage/assist with budget.
Knowledge of and overseeing best practices for recovery courts.
Maintain and facilitate consistent communication with and among the various treatment court team members.
This position reports to the District Court Judge.
Work hours are 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies
Knowledge of: case management and calendaring rules and procedures to administer the case tracking and calendaring system; court system and organization to effectively interact with court officials, court procedures and legal terminology to communicate with court officials and law enforcement personnel.
Skills in: interpersonal skills to work with court personnel and the general public; organizational skills to monitor case activity and prepare court calendars; supervisory skills to manage personnel.
Ability to: interact with a diverse group of people; work independently; and maintain confidentiality.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in court administration, criminal justice, public administration, business, or a related field, and two years of progressive experience in the court system to acquire the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work described; or a master’s degree in a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must have a valid NC driver's license to transport veterans to treatment when needed.
