KEY CONTRIBUTIONS
Perform complex administrative duties requiring knowledge of legal terminology and legal processes
Draft assignments, licenses, and other agreements regarding patents and proprietary information/technology
Make electronic filings with the Patent Office under supervision of attorneys
Draft information disclosure statements
Track patent application deadlines and foreign filing deadlines
Draft correspondence to clients reporting out all USPTO and foreign agent actions and correspondence
Conduct on-line computer information searches for technical literature relevant to patents or patent applications, including identifying proper citations for Information Disclosure Statements
Research USPTO patent databases for transactional due diligence
Other responsibilities as needed
THE ESSENTIALS
At least two years of experience as a transactional legal secretary/assistant in a law firm or corporate legal department environment; administrative support experience in the area of intellectual property is preferred
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Proficient with Microsoft Word and able to type 50 wpm
Highly organized, detail-orientated, and proactive, with a desire to take ownership as a contributing member of the team
Balance competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment, exercising patience and professionalism during stressful situations
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Some overtime may be required
