Senior Corporate Counsel - Healthcare Supply Chain Services
What will you be doing:
The Corporate Counsel II is expected to independently manage and provide legal guidance in support of Premier’s group purchasing organizations (GPOs) and other supply chain related businesses.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience representing clients with various supply chain related matters, preferably in the healthcare space, and have experience negotiating group purchasing agreements and other similar agreement with GPO members and suppliers.
Experience interpreting and applying the Federal Anti-Kickback statue, HIPAA and other pertinent federal and state laws as they apply to Premier’s GPOs and other business segments is preferred.
This person is expected to handle complex corporate issues in a fast-paced environment, and be willing to assist team members on complex issues if needed.
The person in this position is expected to be able to manage a very heavy workload in a fast-paced environment, and provide their legal expertise to the entire Premier organization.
In addition, the Senior Corporate Counsel is expected to train new team members.
This position will work collaboratively with outside counsel in connection with risk management and representation in litigation as well as internally with senior Premier management.
Additional Responsibilities: Address complex legal matters pertaining to multi-national healthcare supplier and service company contracts of major significance by drafting, interpreting terms and conditions, analyzing and reviewing of contracts and amendments prior to execution by management; review and provide advice based on law to minimize legal exposure resulting from transactions; implement Premier GPO Code of Conduct.
Help establish any needed policies or procedures and provide training to new team members.
Evaluate and determine appropriate legal course of action to meet business unit needs by actively participating in the business strategy of the organization and reviewing with respect to laws.
Manage outside counsel by proactively reviewing legal strategy and progress.
Work closely with outside counsel on complex issues, assigning resources, and auditing billing / outcomes to ensure the highest quality and most cost-effective representation is obtained.
May need to manage or assist with Litigation in their respective Business areas.
What we're looking for: Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 10 or more years Skills & Experience: Analytical Thinking, Drafting Documents, Organization (Inactive), Time Management Education: Juris Doctorate Relevant Experience to include: Strong transactional background in healthcare and/or regulatory strongly preferred.
Experience in working with Business Leaders and C-Suite.
HYBRID Schedule: Preferred candidates will be available to be onsite in the Charlotte, NC Headquarters 2-3 days per week Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees.
Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $155,000 - $289,000.
Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location.
