A growing legal practice is seeking to hire a reliable and proactive Associate Attorney.
In addition to creating and/or growing their own book of business, Associate will be directly supporting a *trusts, estates, and guardianships* attorney in the administration of guardianships and decedent’s estates and related special proceedings.
Associate will be supporting attorney by: * Meeting and otherwise communicating with interested parties, clients, court personnel, attorneys, and other professionals to talk about case details * Investigating the facts of a case by interviewing clients and other interested parties * Following an established index system for all estate and guardianship matters * Organizing and maintaining documents in a paper or electronic filing system * Searching public records and other resources * Gathering and analyzing documents and other data * Preparing estate and special proceeding AOC forms throughout estate and guardianship administration based on matter specifications and attorney requests * Preparing for estate- and guardianship-related hearings before the Clerk of Superior Court by organizing exhibits and assisting with other tasks as needed * Drafting legal documents and pleadings, including notices, summonses, motions, certifications, contracts, petitions, and complaints * Filing documents with Clerk of Superior Court * Appearing at hearings before the Clerk of Superior Court To be successful in this role, Associate will need to have: * Reliable legal analysis and research skills * Attention to detail * Professionalism * Commitment to helping attorneys meet deadlines and clients’ needs * Strong oral and written communication skills * Adaptability to templates, systems, and processes * Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel * Organizational skills Most of this work is performed in office, Monday through Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p, but Associate may be called upon to attend in-person court proceedings with attorneys, or to travel for other reasons, such as to file documents or gather information.
Associate will have the support of one estate paralegal and one guardianship paralegal.

* Job Type: Full-time Pay: $75,000.
00 - $85,000.
