WHO WE ARE:
Charlote Center for Legal Advocacy is a 501(c)(3) law firm, established in 1967, that has worked closely with
the private bar and other statewide and na�onal partners to provide comprehensive civil legal services
for our region’s low-income residents.
Our na�onally recognized Immigrant Jus�ce Program advocates
protect low-income, non-English-speaking, La�nx residents and immigrants of other na�onal origins from
exploita�on and ensure that vital services are offered to vulnerable families under the law through a
combina�on of advocacy work, individual representa�on, and community outreach.

ROLE:
The co-director is responsible for overseeing and guiding the strategic direc�on of the Immigrant
Jus�ce Program, ensuring effec�ve legal advocacy and support for immigrant communi�es.
The co-directors
work in tandem to manage the Immigrant Jus�ce Team of atorneys, paralegals, and support personnel.
It is
an�cipated that one co-director will be an atorney and one a non-atorney.
The Senior Atorney supervises and mentors legal staff, ensuring high-quality legal representa�on and
advocacy.
CO-DIRECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Develop and implement strategies to advance immigrant rights and jus�ce.
o Lead and manage the program team, ensuring effec�ve coordina�on and collabora�on.
o Oversee case management and legal representa�on for immigrants.
o Foster rela�onships with community organiza�ons, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
o Ensure compliance with legal standards and organiza�onal policies.
o Monitor and evaluate the program’s impact and effec�veness.
o Advocate for policy changes and engage in public speaking and media rela�ons.
SENIOR ATTORNEY RESPONSIBILITES:
o Oversee the work of atorneys and legal staff in handling cases.
o Provide legal guidance and mentorship to team members.
o Ensure compliance with legal and professional ethical standards.
o Par�cipate in legal cases and provide exper�se.
o Develop training programs for legal staff.
o Collaborate with the other organiza�onal program directors and with others to align legal strategies with
organiza�onal goals.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
o Juris Doctor (JD) with a valid license to prac�ce law.
o Significant experience in legal prac�ce, preferably in immigra�on law.
o Strong mentorship and leadership skills.
o Excellent analy�cal and problem-solving abili�es.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Charlote Center for Legal Advocacy supports a hybrid work schedule with core work hours, Monday - Friday,
8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
SALARY:
This posi�on is a full-�me, salary, exempt posi�on.
The star�ng salary is $83,065 and could vary depending upon
experience and skills.
