DeMayo Law Offices is seeking a Legal Assistant responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to Attorneys and Paralegals by ensuring the completeness and organization of the client files.
Responsibilities
Setting up accurate, timely and complete client case files
Investigating and confirming insurance coverages and opening claims with insurance companies
Sending out letters and documentation, such as letters of representation
Accident report retrieval from the DMV or associated police agencies
Reviewing documents to ensure accuracy and completeness and obtaining missing information to complete files
Serving as a backup for client calls when the Case Manager/Paralegal is not available to take the call
File reviews and documentation of items that may be of extra importance
Providing exceptional customer service to our internal and external clients
Assisting the lead Case Manager/Paralegal with a high volume of cases
Keeping case files updated on client medical treatment and processing provider referrals to specialists
Escalating any notifications of denials to the department supervisor for review and further action
Processing withdrawals and terminations and printing and mailing demand packages
General office duties such as scanning, attaching, sending certified mail and data entry
If bilingual, may also assist with translating for Spanish-speaking clients
Qualifications
Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred
One years legal administrative experience preferred
Must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative to complete duties without supervision
Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task while maintaining high attention to detail
Ability to prioritize job responsibilities to accommodate an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
Knowledge of Microsoft Windows/Office and ability to learn and use various software programs
Experience using Litify software preferred
