This wonderfully crafted timepiece was purchased from the Amish area of Ephrata PA.
It is in perfect running condition, including the second hand and the day of the month feature.
The unsigned brass works are in excellent condition.
The painted metal dial shows a maiden crossing a bridge holding wheat and scenes of the countryside.
The original King and Queen iron hands are present as are the cast weights and brass pendulum.
The cords that support the weights are new and should last for decades.
Graceful swan neck arches atop the bonnet are terminated with brass pateras and once had a brass finial in the center, which could be replaced.
I have shown a separation in the left arch of the bonnet.
There are matching inlays above and below the intricately carved door .
The door has a vibrant flame mahogany veneer with an inlaid Mother of Pearl feature around the keyhole.
The door has a slight warp as shown but does not affect its closing.
The walnut and mahogany veneered case is in excellent condition.
A cast brass bell strikes the number of the hour.
