Often confused with the Settle or Monk’s bench, where the back board is fixed upright.

This is more than reasonably priced.
Originally used in small farm type houses where space was at a premium.
This would sit against a wall with the large board swiveled and pegged in the upright position.
As such it would be used as a storage bench.
When meals were served, this would be moved out into the center of the room.
The back board would be lowered down and pegged in place and the bench would become a table.
A great conversation piece.
Dimensions are: As a bench – 54 inches wide x 18 inches deep x 54 inches tall.
As a table – 54 inches wide x 38 inches deep x 31 inches tall.
